I'll be abandoning blogger and putting up a new webpage within the next week, and fine tuning it from then on. This will be my first solo project for designing and maintaining a webpage (gasp!) so please bear with me.
In the meantime, my team data database is ready to go and just waiting for games to start so I can start entering data. I've also just about completed a "beta" individual player stats database, and that should be ready to go before the webpage is up. Until I work out the details of automating all the data entry, I will be doing analysis of the Toronto Maple Leaf players only. I am excited about expanding that to all NHL players, but... well, when the new webpage is up I'll post a screenshot of the excel spreadsheet and I think you'll understand.
The current version of my power rankings, by the way, will be used for the following:
1) Daily game predictions, based on the relative strength of each team
2) Weekly power rankings, taking into account schedule difficulty, winning percentages, and more
3) Regular updates of final season points and standings predictions, based on winning percentages, power rankings, and remaining schedule difficulty
And more!
I know I for one can't wait for the season to start.
